|WHO WE ARE|
The Department of Chemical, Materials and Industrial Production Engineering (DICMAPI) of the University of Naples Federico II ranks among the finest scientific and educational Italian institution.
The Department was established in on January 1, 2013 by merging the Department of Materials and Production Engineering and the Department of Chemical Engineering. It gathers the expertise and skills of the schools of Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering and Production Engineering, which have been very active at the University of Naples Federico II since the 60s of the last century.
The DICMAPI’s mission is to pursue excellence in research and education. The research activities of the DICMAPI concern the fields of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science and Technology, Mechanical and Industrial Production Engineering. The Department organizes educational and training activities involving approximately 1500 students (undergraduates and postgraduates), and more than 140 PhD students. DICMAPI is associated to a large network of national and international collaborations of high scientific profile, and offers his professional skills in support of a large number of national and international companies. In particular, it is associated to Interdisciplinary Research Centre on Biomaterials (CRIB) an internationally renowned interdepartmental centre that brings together competences on drug delivery and discovery (School of Pharmacy), physiology and implantology (School of Medicine) and toxicity, biocompatibility and preclinical assessment (School of Veterinary).
The Master Course in Industrial Bioengineering benefits also from the participation of the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) and the Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine (TIGEM) to the programme.
